One of Quepos’s newest attractions is its brand new marina. The New Marina is named Pez Vela and is located just footsteps from the main city area. Just a hop away from the new marina is a beautiful park that sits on a beautiful point that gives visitors a 360 degree panoramic view of the ocean and an amazing jungle cove where visitors can find snorkeling, cliff jumping, fishing, lobster diving, kayaking, and more. This park is the perfect place to bring kids, a picnic, a party, or any kind of group activity. The park has a playground for kids and a large assortment of picnic benches and seating that overlooks an ominous view of Costa Rica’s pacific coast.

Quepos is home to one of the most amazing farmers markets in Costa Rica. At this market that sits right on the Quepos waterfront, visitors find the freshest of fruits, vegetables, fish, and breads. The oceanfront location makes the market a beautiful place to shop while enjoying the beautiful ocean or an ominous sunset. This fresh farmers market is a true treat but can only be found two days a week starting Friday afternoon at around 4pm and ending Saturday afternoon around 2pm.
Quepos, like most other Costa Rican cities, loves it’s futbal (soccer). Quepos has one central soccer field where teams from Quepos and other nearby cities meet to do battle. The local league consists of teams from Quepos or nearby cities that compete regularly in hopes of making it to the bigger stage to play against other regions. These games can be very entertaining and competitive so catching a game can be fun. Games are usually played just about every day in the evenings and it is free to grab a seat in the bleachers and enjoy. If your looking to play a little yourself, show up in the early afternoon around three or four and bring a ball. It’s usually pretty easy to pick up a game in you have a ball and want to play.
