About Our Internship in Costa Rica
Are you looking to gain extensive experience working in sustainable hospitality and Tourism? Have you always wanted to travel to Costa Rica in search of an incredible cultural experience? Come live life the to fullest in Costa Rica. I am looking for interns to help me at my hotel in Quepos, Costa Rica. We are looking to make some positive changes to our hotel and we need some new energy in the building. This person(s) should have a strong commitment to better living and be inspired by passion and purpose.
We want new fresh ideas, lots of smiles, and somebody who likes to leave communities better than when they found them. Our goal is to build meaningful connections with others while guiding our guests to life-changing experiences. Do you have that positive radiant energy? Are you passionate about hospitality, travel, wellness, environmental health, or business? Are you eager to travel and immerse yourself in another language and culture?
If you answered yes to any of the above, this opportunity could be for you! (This is a minimum 1-month commitment)
Experience in one of the following fields is preferred*️
- Hotels or Restaurant (2 years)
- Eco-tourism or sustainable business development
- Horticulture
- Social media
- Marketing
- Health retreat production
Intern help
- You will assist our local staff that includes two maids, a full-time receptionist, and our general manager.
- We ask you to be available for 5 half-day "shifts" per week
- Shifts are 6-8 hours and can be AM or PM 7am-3pm or 2pm-10pm
During shifts:
- Help receptionist with Check ins/ Check Outs
- Promote adventure Tours
- Be there for any guest needs
- Work on projects at the hotel
- Blogging
- social media marketing
Here are the projects we need help with:
- Wellness program
- Yoga
- Gardening
- Social media marketing
- Art/Design

- Blogging

- Researching the viability of a new program or campaign
- Compiling and presenting statistics
- Evaluating potential social media platforms
- Proposing a social media strategy
- Building a company sales database
- Cleaning up an existing database
- Critiquing the company’s website from a user perspective
- Brainstorming ideas for boosting site usability
- Evaluating some areas of IT functionality
- Generating cost-cutting ideas
- Preparing budgets, reports, plans, or proposals
- Creating materials (marketing, collateral, etc.)
- Sourcing lower-cost supplies
- Developing process directions for tasks with high employee turnover
- Competitive analysis/product comparisons
- Use Google AdWords to research SEO targeted keywords
- Use Facebook to run ads and create lookalike audiences to target clients

- Possible learning exercises
- Learning exercises involve taking along an intern to observe a meeting or participate in a networking opportunity, teaching an intern a new skill, or providing training in how to complete a project.
Examples of formal learning exercises include:
- Inviting an intern to observe an internal meeting, client meeting, or sales call
- Teaching an intern how to prepare a budget, report, or plan
- Training an intern in how to use a piece of equipment or software
- Helping an intern use their PowerPoint skills to create a company presentation
- Role-playing with an intern how to make client follow-up calls or close a sale
