Meet your lead trainers, Ben and Shirley, both 500-hour certified yoga trainers. Ben, a master of Ashtanga and Vinyasa, infuses his teachings with passion and precision. His deep understanding of alignment and anatomy ensures a safe, dynamic practice.

Villas Jacquelina Treehouse-style Hotel

Guests will find a housing option that will fit their needs and budget at Villas Jacquelina's eco-friendly, treehouse-style villas. This boutique hotel is nestled amidst stunning mountain landscapes just outside the town of Quepos where you exchange the city noise for the hum of tropical birds and wildlife.  There are a variety of room options that can accommodate a variety of needs. Additionally, all guests will have the option of bunking in the penthouse rooftop apartment (El Palomar) for an incredible overnight experience for any participant who wants to sleep in a protected outdoor setting.

Our Captivating Nature Excursions:

Let nature captivate your heart as you embark on guided excursions exploring the wonders of the surrounding landscape and immersing yourself in the beauty of the outdoors. Included with your package are 4 nature excursions that will give participants an unparalleled opportunity to connect with nature and unwind in some of the most surreal landscapes Costa Rica has to offer.  Here are the four nature excursions we have planned for your group:


Manuel Antonio National Park tour 

Our group will get a guided hiking tour in the morning and make the park our classroom for the afternoon   (a $65 value)

Full-day waterfall adventure

This half-day waterfall adventure will take us to 2-3 local waterfalls deep in the Costa Rican jungle. (a $130 value)

Paddleboarding to Playa Beizans

This morning activity will take us from Quepos to one of our favorite local beaches and will give participants a chance to work on their yoga moves from atop a paddleboard.  (a $75 value)

Churro River Eco Lodge  

Travel into the jungle to one of our favorite eco-lodges where we will do yoga on their incredible riverside yoga deck and play in the beautiful river. This is the perfect backdrop for our closing ceremony and graduation. (a $40 value)

Included in your package is round-trip transportation to and from San Jose Airport and Villas Jacquelina. Group transportation is also included for all nature excursions and planned activities.

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • Where do i need to fly into?

    Please book your flight into SJO, or San Jose airport in Costa Rica (be sure not to choose the California San Jose!). Shuttles will pick you up at the airport and take you to the Villas. Please arrive to SJO by 2pm on March 7th.

  • Are meals included?

    Dinner will be included the first evening, and only breakfast the last morning. All other days in between, breakfast and lunch will be included. Dietary restrictions will be accounted for.

  • What is around the area?

    The Villas are located in Quepos, along the west coast of Costa Rica. They are a short 10-minute walk to the town center where you will find plenty of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. The area's main attraction is Manuel Antonio National Park. We will spend a morning there on a guided tour. 

  • What should i pack?

    Bring your yoga mat, manual (you will need to pick this up before the start date), required books, an extra notebook, bug spray, a raincoat, hiking shoes or tennis shoes, bathing suits, water bottle, and plenty of yoga clothes!  Click here for more detailed information.

  • Whats the bedroom situation like?

    Depending on which package you choose, you will be in a single, double, or triple shared room. Bathrooms are shared. Some rooms have air conditioning.  A/C rooms will be given to those who request it or will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • How much free time will I have?

    The intensive training offers long days full of content. Some lectures will be held outside of the villas with your option to stay after the day’s session is over. Two afternoons will be free for you to explore. At least one excursion will be planned for the group. There is not a lot of free time, so if you desire more time to explore the beauty of Costa Rica, we encourage you to arrive a bit early, or stay a bit late!

  • What does a typical day look like?

  • Will I be able to teach yoga at the end?

    You will be certified to teach yoga at the end of the training. Most students who take part in intensive trainings like to spend some extra time teaching casually before they teach in a studio, but our hope is that you will feel ready to do that when the time is right!

  • Do I need to bring extra money?

    You will need to bring extra money for your dinners and any groceries you want, as well as any extra activities you’d like to take part in that are not a part of the curriculum. There are ATMs that are walkable from the Villas. Costa Rica accepts USD, or you can get Colones.

     

  • Do the nature excursion included?

    Yes, Included in your package are 3 half-day nature excursions. We will do some of our learning and practice in these settings. 

  • How will I get around?

    Included in your package is transportation to and from the airport in addition to transportation for included activities. If you go out in the evenings, there are taxis or public transportation that are easily accessible in the area.

Best Waterfall tour in Costa Rica - Full Day Waterfall Adventure with Paddle 9 If you are spending some time in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area of Costa Rica and want to see (and jump off of) some of the area's magnificent waterfalls- then a full day waterfall tour is well worth it! Here is an outline of my full day waterfall tour with Paddle 9: I started my day with delicious breakfast at Villas Jacquelina , my eco hotel here in Quepos. After finishing breakfast, I was picked up by my guides directly at my hotel. I was immediately introduced to all the guides and the rest of my group, a family, an elder couple and a younger couple. This warm introduction made me feel very welcome, as I was traveling solo. The tour consists of 3 waterfalls, a lunch, and a beautiful beach stop to end your day. The drive is about an hour to the first waterfall, during which, the guides gave detailed information about the area, its history, and extensive knowledge about its wildlife and agricultural traits. This made the drive very pleasant, along with the stunning views along the coastal road.
